This Past weekend we went camping in Gallup, New Mexico. The weather wasn't the best but we were warm and cozy in our camper. We did some hiking, biking, geocaching, and exploring.

Ian and Dad had fun playing in the camper.

Cody, Smokey, and Bandit have their favorite hang out places in the camper.

On the way home we explored Northern Arizona. Ian and Dad stick their tongues out at mom at the Petrified Forest National Park.

This is the old Route 66. A mere 1/4 mile from I-40.

Driving down the old route 66, we discovered this really cool place. This is an old viewing tower that was a tourist trap in the route 66 heyday. The view was of the Meteor Crater. It is said the owners of meteor crater charged .25 to climb up and see. The view was not that good and most drove the remaining 7 miles to see the rest, where they were charged another .25.

Our next stop was in Two Guns, AZ. There is nothing there but ruins. It was an old Apache hide out, home to gunslingers and mountain men, and huge tourist trap on Route 66. Here is a link to some information on Two Guns.
